Huskisson Primary School
Huskisson School enjoys a magnificent location adjacent to Jervis Bay. This enables environmental education to form an important part of our school curriculum. Easy access to Booderee National Park, Jervis Bay Marine Park, numerous bush tracks and the Lady Denman Museum enhance our studies in this area. Because we engender in children the need and importance of caring for our environment, the students have participated in tree planting at Moona Moona Creek in conjunction with Landcare, Jervis Bay Bushcare group and Shoalhaven City Council, and the school was also chosen as the venue for the official launch of the National Parks and Wildlife Discovery Van. Our school has an educational emphasis on individual and specialised programs in literacy and numeracy. This is in part necessitated by our significant mobile population, whereby children experience a lack of continuity in their education and need specific programs to cater for their needs. The school's welfare programs are also designed to help meet the needs of these children.
